User Data Upload

This allows you to upload lists of users and can be useful if you need to create a number of new users in a single batch operation.

As with the other types of upload you must specify the location of the table containing the data and a cell in which to save the settings. Unlike app and reference data the fields in the user table are not user-defined but are standard for all users. Data that you may want to upload includes:

  • application_username - This is the unique username for the UniFi user. This could be the email address, the users full name or any other convention you prefer. You would normally decide on a convention for this when you start using UniFi and then ensure whatever you decide is consistently followed.

  • email_address - This will be used for notifications etc.

  • fullname - The users full name, this is free text and may be referred to in formulas etc. as well as the name visible in user selection drop-down fields.

  • application_password - When creating new users give them a default password as part of the upload. Users should change this after their initial login.

  • license_status - Options are 'Full User' and 'Credit User'. Credit users do not consume one of your user licences, but are limited to only being able to initiate and submit transactions. Each submission from a credit user will incur a small cost.

  • primary_team_id - When created users are assigned a primary team, to do this as part of an upload you need to obtain the 'ID' of the team you want to assign. This can be found by going in to 'Settings' > 'Team Management' and selecting a team. The ID of that team willl be displayed in the URL right after 'id='. As with other ID's its a long string of characters which you can copy and paste into the spreadsheet.
